ABOUT US

The DAB radio landscape in London is set for change

A change to how Ofcom licenses radio multiplexes
A change to the areas to be covered
Changes to how and by whom the new services will be operated

Following a temporary DAB trial, broadcasting regulator, Ofcom, is redrawing DAB coverage areas inside the M25 and dividing London into three principal areas, and two out-of-town areas.

In 2024 the London trial will cease to operate.

When the London trial ends, and the service, in its present form shuts down, three new broadcast reception areas will replace the existing coverage:

• North London
• South London
• West London

Our network of local transmitters will deliver optimal signal coverage throughout North London.

North London Digital is applying to be the transmission company to carry around 25 radio services and one of these could be yours.

We bring together a team that has had success in applying for radio multiplex licences in other major UK cities. We now focus that expertise, know-how and skills to deliver digital radio for North London.

We are a group of broadcast professionals who have a huge radio heritage stretching back over three decades. Our group also includes specialists who have proven experience to deal with the technical complexities of digital broadcast radio transmission.

With digital radio, individual radio stations no longer have to worry about transmitters, aerial masts and antennas, we’ll take care of all that.

North London Digital has been formed as a project which seeks to operate for community radio and other localised radio services that share an interest in broadcasting across North London.
